HOPE UpdateStudents Enrolled in HOPE Classes
New Curriculum As the HOPE Program continues to evolve and better meet the needs of the student population, a new abstinence education curriculum for high school level -- Choosing The Best Journey and Choosing the Best Soul Mate -- has been adopted. HOPE staff attended training on the new curriculum material in June 2011 at Gwinnett Metro Baptist Association in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The training was done by Choosing the Best trainer, Ruth Geetz. Choosing the Best Journey and Soul Mate are combined to provide a complete semester of abstinence education instruction and make the third high school level instructional option for HOPE. Community Involvement and Public Relations In an effort to bring more awareness to the HOPE Program, expand the scope of HOPE, spread the message of abstinence and the avoidance of risky behaviors, and to connect with parents and other community groups/organizations, the HOPE Program/staff has participated in the following:

New Home dedicated to ATLAS client Rachel Lee ...
Home ownership was a dream come true for ATLAS client Rachel Lee. Her Habitat for Humanity home was dedicated on Sunday June 12th.
Through ATLAS Ministry, Rachel was mentored by Diane VanDelden for more than two years. After Rachel was accepted into the Habitat program, Diane and her husband Robert took over the additional role of mentoring her through the Habitat homebuilding process. Rachel is the second ATLAS client to receive a Habitat home in the last year. She is quick to acknowledge that the loving support, guidance, financial coaching, and spiritual growth provided by the ATLAS family have played a large role in realizing this latest blessing in her life.

At the dedication ceremony, Rachel said ...
"I want to thank God for the many blessings He has bestowed upon me. I am so very grateful for Habitat and the volunteers who built my home."
Greene County Habitat for Humanity is a non-denominational Christian ministry working in partnership with the community and future homeowners to provide decent, affordable, and safe housing for those in need.
