2011 Family Fun Day
Annual Family Fun Day
On Friday, June 3, 2011, we celebrated Family Fun Day. ATLAS families, staff, and volunteers ventured to A.H. Stephens State Park for a day of fun-filled activities. The morning started with a hilarious Sack Race in which 20 of the 23 children participated! It was so much fun to watch the kids laugh and play. And what a treat to see the little ones (ages 4-7) participate.
Following the Sack-Race, the kids geared up for the Three Legged Race and once again, 20 kids participated. The morning was off to a spirited and energetic start!
As the day went on, so did all the fun and games. The Balloon Relay Race, Musical Chairs, Cake Walk, Hula Hoop Contests, and Peddle Boats were the finishing touches to the fun and games.
After all of this activity, the kids as well as the adults were winding down and ready for an awesome lunch. The staff and volunteers thought this time would never come! Lunch included was: chicken, baked beans, potato salad, hamburgers, hotdogs, and an entire buffet of tasty desserts.
To hear everyone talk about "the spread," you would think the meal was prepared by a professional catering company! Fortunately this was prepared by the faithful volunteers, families, and staff of ATLAS Ministry. Our families also contributed to the meal by bringing all the side items, drinks and desserts. Also, our families took part as volunteers in various roles.
It is truly a blessing to be a part of a ministry like ATLAS and we thank you for your support.
